Project #1- Bridge Project
This bridge project was the first of four projects this semester. The object of the project was to make a bridge using 100 popsicle sticks that could hold at least 35 pounds. Our bridge held 55 pounds.
Reflective Questions
Question #1 Before this project started, I had little or no knowledge about bridges. I had to do a lot of research with my group before we could start.
Question #13 I feel like I wanted to have my bridge hold more weight. I felt like I didn't really meet my expectations, and I think part of the problem was that I focused more on the bottom of the bridge than the top, and the top was the part that ultimately broke.
Question #25 I feel like I would give myself a passing grade, a B or an A- because although I met the standards, I didn't totally blow it out of the water.
Question #31 If I did this project again, I would like to focus more on the structural integrity of the entire bridge, not just making the bottom more resistant than the top.

Project #2- Marble Maze
The goal of this project was to make a track for a marble to run on for the longest amount of time. The goal for the amount of time was 15 seconds. I wanted to do this project because I thought I would be good at it and it seemed really fun. I did meet the standards of this project because the marble got to the bottom in 20 seconds, 5 seconds longer than the goal.
I’m really proud of this project because I worked a long time on it and I think I did a good job. The most challenging part about this project was making sure the surface was smooth and everything went well. If there was a tiny obstruction in the course. If I did this project over I would plan it out beforehand so it would go more smoothly .
During the redesign step of the design process I thought differently by thinking about my options and making something that worked well. Overall, I would give this project 4.5 stars because it was fun, difficult, and required a lot of creative thinking. Moving forward, a new goal in TIDE is to either make a sculpture or an animation that lasts one or two minutes.

Project #3- Skateboarding Animation
The goal of this project was to create an animation. I wanted to do this project because I thought it would be interesting and fun. I did meet the standards of this project because I made an animation that could be put on Youtube and watched. I am proud of this project because I don't have much experience with animations. The most challenging part of this project was the time it took to make it. If I did this project again I would try to make it smoother and longer. During the design part of the process I thought differently when I used a whiteboard so I could make an animation without pencil marks in the background so it would look more professional. Overall, I would give this project 4/5 stars because it was a good animation, but choppy and a bit short. My next goal in TIDE is to make a box to hold my MTG cards.

Project #4- Penny Boat
The goal of this project was to make a boat that could hold 25 or more pennies using 10 straws and 10 inches of plastic wrap. I wanted to do this project because I thought it was interesting . I did meet the standards of this project because my boat held 147.886 grams- 7 grams shy of the record!
I’m really proud of this project because I had a really good design and it worked out really well. The most challenging part about this project was figuring out how to build it. If I did this project over I would do some more research and make a better design.
During the brainstorm step of the design process I thought differently by making a boat that spread out its weight over the water by making a big frame. Overall, I would give this project 5 stars because it was really fun and I did well on it. Moving forward, a new goal in TIDE is to successfully print a functional MTG deck box, and after that maybe try a redesign on my penny boat to break the record.
Project #5- Penny Boat 2.0
The goal of this project was to build a penny boat that held 25 pennies. You could use one plastic cup, tape, and 10 straws. I wanted to do this project because I thought it was interesting and it seemed fun. I did meet the standards of this project because I broke the record by 178 grams.
I’m really proud of this project because this was my second try at breaking the record and I succeeded. The most challenging part about this project was making it so it displaced the most water it could. If I did this project over I would make it look more professional.
During the redesign step of the design process I thought differently by making a more sound design that was more efficient and used the plastic wrap better. Overall, I would give this project 5 stars because it was really fun and I reached my goal- breaking the record. Moving forward, a new goal in TIDE is to redesign another project so it works better or try something new.

Project #6- MTG Deckbox
The goal of this project was to 3d print something useful. I decided to make a MTG deckbox to store all my cards. I wanted to do this project because MTG cards are worth a lot of money and I wanted to keep them safe. I did meet the standards of this project because I printed out a functional box and I decorated it well.
I am proud of this box because this is the second try making a deckbox, and I succeeded. The previous one was too thin and broke.
During the redesign step of the design process I thought differently by making the design more structurally sound and worked better. I would give this project 5 stars because it was fun and I reached my goal. Moving forward, I want to try and make a zombie survival kit.
